Jalapeno Hands

+

=

That's right. And I'm not even kidding. I chopped up 20 jalapenos (and no I DIDN'T wear gloves! I didn't KNOW!) and my hands have been ON FREAKING FIRE for 7 hours! Let's see I've tried vinegar (made them burn worse), honey (short-lived relief), washing them repeatedly (water makes it worse) and even hand sanitizer (Thank you they are now triple the heat.) Just when you think they are feeling better they start to get worse. I googled it and apparently Jalapeno Hands are quite the problem out there. Oh and every was freaking out about their contacts. I guess even hours after they have chopped up their Jalapenos they took out their contacts and almost ripped out their eye due to the pain. So I got my happy butt out of the house at midnight tonight to go get some latex gloves so I can at least sleep with my contacts out of my eyes. Seriously this is awful. I beg of you, next time you deal with peppers, USE THE DAGUM GLOVES.

*UPDATE: My #%$&@ hands WOKE ME UP in the middle of the night from the pain. Now it is morning and only 2 and half fingers are hurting. I'll take it.

I'm just a regular June Cleaver

That's right. I've been transformed to a cooking, cleaning AND SEWING housewife. And I'm loving it. I never thought I would. I never thought I would be the girl that would spend HOURS in the grocery store and fabric store poring every little product. But I am. Huh. Weird.

So here we have some DELISH Whiskey Steak. I heart this steak very, berry much. I stole the recipe off the net (thanks internet peeps!) and marinated that steak in some good 'ol Jim Beam for a few hours and then grilled it up with some veggies. YUM.
And tonight I finished my SECOND sewing project. No pattern this time either! Of course it's not perfect but I'm pretty pleased with myself. I've decided I'm going to use it as my grocery bag or book bag. I was going to give it away as a gift but it's my first. Can't give away my first! Plus, it's not perfect and I'm WAY to Type A to send it off not looking perfect. And the total cost of this project? A little over $3.50! I picked up 4 placemats at Target on clearance (.74 each!) with some polka-dot ribbon. How's that for a bargain?
