It's the End Of The World As We Know It

And I feel happy, estactic, over the moon, nervous, scared, thrilled, sappy, weepy, womanly.

And so happy.

Crawfish Boil

This year Hubby and I got to attend Steve & Jen's annual Crawfish Boil. Steve is from Louisiana and does this ever year but I've never been able to attend and Hubby has attended in years. Steve had about 150 pounds of live fish flown in and cooked them on the spot. They were good little suckers.

It was a nice afternoon for us. We got to hang out with friends that we hadn't seen in awhile. It seems that ever since we moved back to the year we (meaning ME really) have been doing nothing but running and that does leave too much time for socializing!

There were 5 or 6 of us couples that all got married in the same year and so far since our weddings 2 of the couple's have had a baby and another couple has one on the way. Rheanna is the newest addition and goodness I want to eat her up. She is still so little so she is in the perfectly moldable baby stage. You can put her any which way you want her and she just curls up and goes to sleep. I even made Hubby get in some practice on the handling of a baby. It's been 20 years since he had a baby! He did a good job though! And Steve and Jen's little munchkin Cooper is SUCH a lovebug! He was so good all day, just hang out and watched every body. He has the most squeezeable cheecks too. I just want to nom on them.

It really was one of the most relaxing days I've had in a long while with good friends and good food. Hubby and I both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope that it won't be quite as long before we get to see our friends again. Thanks to Steve and Jen for letting us all crash your house!

Memory Journalists: Marites & Gil Esession

Jen and I were lucky enough to meet up with Marites and Gil last week for their e-session. We actually got to meet the WHOLE family, dogs and cats included! They are so much fun and so in love. The kind of couple that you love to laugh with because they can't stop smiling at each other.

And can we talk about how beautiful they all are? I mean really! Inside and out! Their wedding is coming up in just a few short weeks and I know it's going to so much fun! Make sure and check out Jen's blog for the slideshow!

Chicken

Today is my sister-in-love's birthday. And even though she doesn't want to talk about it I just want to tell you a few things about her. So this is NOT a birthday post. This is Get To Know The Chicken post.

From the moment I met the Chicken she was warm and welcoming and just about the sweetest person I had ever met. She fiercely loves her family and will go to any lengths to defend them. I have seen her sacrifice of herself to make sure her son gets on the right path. If the Chicken loves you, you know it. She will be the first person to compliment you and brighten your day. You just FEEL better about yourself being with her. One of my favorite things about her is how much she loves my hubby. She is always so happy to see him and hang out with him. She is always telling you how much she loves you too. Which sometimes you just need to hear and you can count on her for that. She has this great laugh too. When she really gets to laughing. It makes me giggle just thinking about it.

The best summer that I can recall was the summer of 2007. Chicken and I spent the entire summer just hanging out by the pool. We had some BBQ's, went to some concerts but spent most of the time in the backyard in our bathing suits, listening to Katharine McPhee and reading magazine's. I loved that time I had with her.

So Chicken, I want you to know that I love you. You're smart, beautiful and downright awesome. I could not have been blessed with a better sister. Here's to artichokes!

Dr. Dad

Two weekends ago my dad fulfilled a life-long dream of his. He became a PhD.

Dad has been working on his actual doctorate for about 4 years, but he has been working towards this his whole life. My dad is the smartest guy I know. He loves knowledge and values education. He REALLY wanted to be a cardiologist growing up but felt like he was being called in a different direction. So he gave up the dream to be the Godly man he is.

Sister, JC (my soon to SIL) and I flew out to surprise my dad the morning of his graduation. I thought he was going to pass out. He had no idea that we were coming. The Sun (my brother) joined us that afternoon. We had such a good time hanging out. We went to lunch, toured my dad's campus (which by the way, Bing Crosby went there!) and ate some amazing food. After the Graduation we all went to this AMAZING restaurant called the Wild Sage American Bistro. Seriously if you are ever in Spokane that is the place to eat. It was to die for. Best steak EVER.
We embarrassed my dad all day because every where we went were shouting out, "DOCTOR! Dr. Dad!". Secretly though I think he loved it.
I think the Sun said it best that night, "The kids are supposed to make the parents proud, but it's the opposite this time. We couldn't be more proud of who you are and what you have done."

So proud of you Dr. Dad. And love you so much.

Gotcha NJ

I'm still shooting on a regular basis with Memory Journalists and loving it. A few weeks ago NJ & I shot an mixer for the AFWPI at David Girard's Vineyards. It was SUCH a nice night to be outside and we had a really good time mixing with everybody else.

But more importantly, I got this picture of NJ.

Catching up

Okay, so because I've been such a bad blogger I have a few things to catch up on. The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY with events and such so I'm going to play catch up this week! Be prepared to be flooded with photos friends!

Jump On The Bandwagon

I love pretty things. LOVE THEM. Right now I love pretty rings. I go through stages where I love certain pieces of jewelry and right now it's rings. Here is one of my new favorites. Don't you love it too? It's so feminine and girly. Check out the Flowers for Your Ears Etsy store!

P.S. This is the LONGEST my nails have ever been. I'm so proud! My fat little hands actually look kind of cute!

So let it be written. . .

YAH! KRIS WON!!!

Funniest picture goes to Ryan Seacrest!

I'm a bad blogger. And I know it.

Let's see, what excuse can I come up with this? Um, heat? It's been DREADFULLY hot here. I seriously hate Sacramento weather. Come to think of it, I'm not all that fond of Sacramento itself. It's one step up from Fresno, which is one step up from Bakersfield. There is NOTHING here. Other than the Governator that is. And the crappy Kings. Winters are torrential downpours, summers are fry-your-bones hot. Phooey.

And by they way HOW do you spell "phooey"? Cuz that ain't right. (this bad grammar brought to you specifically for Michelle and Girly Muse.)

In other news my life is one big bundle of busy. People keep telling me that I'm the busiest person they know. This does not make me proud. I really need to learn to stay no. I seriously don't want to be one of those people that is always SO BUSY.

Next topic, American Idol. THE UNTHINKABLE HAS HAPPENED. I had to shot an engagement session last night so I set the DVR. And by the hand of my hubby (I'm 99% sure this is what has happened) or the evil of my DVR IT WAS NOT RECORDED. Which means my friends that I missed exactly two episodes of AI this year. The best year ever. I will be watching the finale though. GO KRIS!

Okay, enough of this ramble. Just wanted you to know I was alive. And I missed you. I'm missing a few of my friends lately. When did we get too busy for each other?

Because its Friday and I'm happy because its Friday and I want you all to laugh today

Okay, it's time for more funnies. This gal is my FAVORITE comedian. She is so hilarious AND she has a clean mouth. Here are my two favorite part of her set. I swear I nearly cry everytime I watch these. HAPPY FRIDAY!!

CRYTAL GEL. I almost died.

Is is sad that I'm sad?

I am so caught up in American Idol this year. I watch it every year but THIS year I'm REALLY caught up. The top 10 were amazing this year. This has been, by far, the best season. And last night crazy America sent my boy Danny home. Tear.

I LOVE Danny. He was so awesome. That gravelly voice. They way he connected with the audience when he sang. His cool glasses. I voted for him every single week. Yes. I vote. I'm 12.

And not to do a disservice to Kris or Adam. Kris has actually really surprised me. He seems to have come out of no where to really shine. And he is VERY good. His performance of "Heartless" by Kayne West was amazing.

Adam is good. Really. Very good. He can take a song and totally make it different. Which takes some talent. But he reminds me of Mariah Carey. Just because you CAN hit those notes doesn't mean you HAVE to hit them every. Single. Time. And please stick that tongue back in your mouth. Thank you.

I really hope this will be one of those Chris Daughtry situations where even though Danny didn't win he will still be successful. And I think I'll have to switch my allegiance to Kris now.

And next week I'm staying of the computer the whole night so I don't accidentally stumble on who gets voted off!

Conversations with Momma

Momma: I really like that story I read on your blob the other day. It was really funny. I was cracking up.

Me: Um, did you mean my BLOG?

Momma: Oh, yea, whatever. But anyway, it was funny. I told dad he had to read the story on your blob.

Me: Blog, Mom, blog.

Momma: Right, blob. Blog.
