Bring it 37. I'm going to handle you like a boss.
36 was mostly not great but that's cool. This next year is mine and it's going to be great. So come on now. Let's do this thing.
How did I get here again?
Today is my sister-in-love's birthday. And even though she doesn't want to talk about it I just want to tell you a few things about her. So this is NOT a birthday post. This is Get To Know The Chicken post.
From the moment I met the Chicken she was warm and welcoming and just about the sweetest person I had ever met. She fiercely loves her family and will go to any lengths to defend them. I have seen her sacrifice of herself to make sure her son gets on the right path. If the Chicken loves you, you know it. She will be the first person to compliment you and brighten your day. You just FEEL better about yourself being with her. One of my favorite things about her is how much she loves my hubby. She is always so happy to see him and hang out with him. She is always telling you how much she loves you too. Which sometimes you just need to hear and you can count on her for that. She has this great laugh too. When she really gets to laughing. It makes me giggle just thinking about it.
So Chicken, I want you to know that I love you. You're smart, beautiful and downright awesome. I could not have been blessed with a better sister. Here's to artichokes!
Today is my baby sister's 30th birthday. I can't believe she is 30! Heck, I can't believe I'm 32!
We celebrated her birthday over the weekend. We planned a surprise getaway with my mom and me and our cousins and aunts. We had such a fabulous time and great memories were made. There was a recurring theme throughout the weekend about my sister. We all just wanted her to take care of herself.
My sister is the best mom I know. Seriously. She is that mom that has games in the middle of the day at home just because it's fun. She bakes cookies with the girls takes care of her husband. She is the first one up and the last one to go to bed. And that's just her immediate family. When it comes to the rest of us, it's the same story. If you need something, call Nicole. If you need someone, call Nicole. She is always there. And along the way she wears herself out and we take her for granted.
So this past weekend we heaped love upon her. It was our turn to shower her with attention and affection. It was her turn to take a break and rest and revel in the love. I hope she took it all in and stored it away in her heart for when she needs it.
This is a video of our weekend. It's long so I won't be offended if you don't make it all the way through. :-)
My sister whipping up the Birthday Boy's requested dessert on my teeny tiny counters.
See my little niece hiding back there? She's about to comb her dad's hair with the dog brush.
I thought Gracie was going to DIE of pure joy. She loves animals, she loves cowgirls and now that she is in school loves all her little friends. Throw in some candy, cake and presents and boy howdy she is happy for a month.
