The Last Lecture

A few weeks ago I saw this video. It moved me then. Randy Pausch is a professor that found out that he had Pancreatic cancer and was dying. He has three young children and the real purpose of this lecture was for his kids. The full lecture is about an hour long and really worth watching. It moved me to tears. How inspiring. I can only hope that I live my life as fully as this man has and is.

This version is about 10 minutes long and give you the jist of the lecture.

I saw the one he did on Oprah a while ago. When he said the part about his parents letting him paint his room all crazy and giving him freedom to express himself...it hit a note with me.

Ty had been begging to cover his entire bedroom door in caution tape and I'd said no, that only the inside of his room was his to decorate. But after that show, I told him he could do whatever he wanted to his door. Having a clean and matching hallway is just not that important to me after hearing that speech.
