Happy Mother's Day!

I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.
They have clung to me all my life.

Nevertheless, I hope you have an awesome 4th peeps.  I, myself, intend to swim, play, eat, cuddle, eat, play, bbq, laugh, cuddle and snuggle.

Happy Christmas Eve

This time of year can be crazy. It can be stressful and overwhelming. And for some people it can be lonely. We can lose sight of what's truly important. But no matter how much I am stressed, no matter how much there is to do inevitably by the time I wake up Christmas Eve I am in full holiday spirit mode.

I am so happy this year because I know all the wonderful things that 2010 is going to bring. I am happy this year to be able to so close to all my family and to be able spend time with them all.  I am grateful for the life I have, the man I married and the many, many other blessings God has given me.  And because it is that time of year I wanted to make sure all my family knew how much they have blessed me this year and how much I love them.

Dad & Mom - You are the perfect examples of love, grace, and kindness.  Thank you for continued support and encouragement throughout this year.  I'm so glad Jackson has you for your grandparents.  He couldn't be more blessed.

Josh & Nicole - It's not been an easy year but you have both met the challenge and showed the world that you are a team and always will be.  I've watched the two of you become closer and stronger through adversity.  I'm so proud of you both and blessed to call you brother & sister.

Andy & Jill - Andy you picked the right one!  I'm so happy you have found the perfect girl for you.  And Jill I am so happy to have you as a sister.  You fit right in!  Even if we still have to watch you guys make out like the newlyweds you are! :-)  I know 2010 holds some awesome things for you!

Lovebug & Butterbean - Tia's girls!  I love you both so much.  You make me laugh.  You always run at me full tilt with your arms wide open.  I hope that as you grow up you know that Tia is always here for you.

Sherrie - I know it's been hard.  I KNOW, but I can't imagine how you have felt this year.  You've made some huge sacrifices to do the right thing.  I hope you know that I'm proud to be your sister and I love you so much.  I know next year is going to be a little brighter, a little better.  Good things are coming.  I just know it.

Bradley - You are on the right path!  Keep it up!  I know you are going to become someone amazing that we are all so proud of.  Work hard.  It's worth it.  I promise.

Frank - I'm glad you were here to celebrate this year with us.  I'm glad that I am getting the opportunity to know you better.  Be strong.  Persevere.  I believe in you and what you can do.

Hubby - Love of my life.  Wasn't sure I would ever get it but I did.  Father of our son.  You make me laugh and drive me crazy.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

My heart is full today for each of you too that have read over the last year.  Through the good, the bad and the sarcastic.  I wish you all (yes all 8 of you!) a wonderful Christmas.  I hope its full of lights and cookies and family and laughs and relaxation.  Take the time to hug someone's neck today or call and tell them you love them.

Happy Christmas Eve friends.

4th o' July

Happy 4th of July everyone! How blessed are we? We live in a country where we are given the freedom to disagree with our government, I don't have to stay at home just because I'm a woman, we can worship as we please and we are allowed to have different opinions. We are so blessed. Thank you to all those men and women who have and are sacrificing of themselves so that we can have these rights. There is no greater hero than you. I hope your day is filled with laughter and family!

Happy 4th! Let freedom ring!

Wrapping Up V-day

I love holidays. LOVE THEM. Any reason at all to decorate my house or make special things for the fam and I'm all over it. I just think it is fun. I know that V-day was 4 days ago but I didn't get a chance to share so bear with me.

I'm not normally much a heart person, but as soon as it is Valentine's day and the world is throwing up pink and red I'm all about it. I found that cute little garland at Target in the $1 bins. SCORE.

This was so easy to do. I took one sheet of construction paper and outlined cookie cutters on it in various sizes. Cut them out and put them up! I really thought it turned out cute.

Do you remember these from last year? I still just think they are adorable. And I got the heart champagne glasses from my Sassy Flirty Apron Swap.

I made a lot of goodies this year. And I got all my ideas from Bakerella. Everytime I pull up her blog I want to like my screen. These are actually just Oreo Cakesters cut into heart shapes.
Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches. OH. MY. So good.

And the biggest hit of all was the Cupcake Pops. Seriously, these are sinful.

And look what the hubs got me. He's a keeper. We had a really nice day too. We did. . .nothing. :-) Sat on the couch, watched some movies and just hung out. We both actually had the day off so it was nice to get in some quality time. All in all, a perfectly lovely holiday. Now I just have to figure out what to replace all those hearts with.

Sew happy

I wanted to have a handmade Christmas. I wanted to make each of my loved one's a gift to show how much I care. I'm so funny. That SO did not happen. I did however make one really cool gift.

Chapstick holder.

Handmade by ME!

I picked Aunt C's name for Christmas this year and I knew just what I wanted to make her. I had seen a bag like this in a magazine and had even made one similiar to it for a swap a did a few months ago. However this time it was much more time consuming and for whatever reason just seem to keep stumping me. I did however finally finish it and I am very pleased with the results. So cute I almost kept it for myself!

Took her forever to figure out I made it!

FFF

Every year we hold our annual Christmas FFF (Forced Family Fun). Every year we chose names, get together and exchange gifts. 20 people in a house. Scratch that. 20 VERY LOUD people in a house. Scratch that. 20 very LOUD, very OPINIONATED, very STUBBORN people in a house. It's good times people.

This year was no exception. We were missing a few slackers, G-pa was all sick and what not, Uncle T was recovering from back surgery, JC(soon to be JS) was off studying to be a doctor and JL was off getting ready for his graduation. Like those are good excuses. Any who the rest of us made do and had a rip-roaring time as usual.

I'm so lucky I tell you. My family drives me nuts but there is never a more fun crowd to be around. I love those peeps.

Check out the video of our day!
