The Memory Journalists: NJ & John

My pal NJ is engaged and getting married in August (DUDE! That's only 2 months away!!!). We had a Memory Journalists meeting a few weeks ago (the day I found out I was PREGNANT) and as part of our meeting we took their engagement pictures. How cute are they?

Congratulations NJ & John (and Kylie too!)! I'm so happy for you guys!

Memory Journalists: Marites & Gil Esession

Jen and I were lucky enough to meet up with Marites and Gil last week for their e-session. We actually got to meet the WHOLE family, dogs and cats included! They are so much fun and so in love. The kind of couple that you love to laugh with because they can't stop smiling at each other.

And can we talk about how beautiful they all are? I mean really! Inside and out! Their wedding is coming up in just a few short weeks and I know it's going to so much fun! Make sure and check out Jen's blog for the slideshow!

Gotcha NJ

I'm still shooting on a regular basis with Memory Journalists and loving it. A few weeks ago NJ & I shot an mixer for the AFWPI at David Girard's Vineyards. It was SUCH a nice night to be outside and we had a really good time mixing with everybody else.

But more importantly, I got this picture of NJ.

Memory Journalists: Ann-Marie & Mark

I had the privilege of working with The Memory Journalists again on Friday. We shot an e-session for Ann-Marie & Mark and may I just say, what a cool couple! Ann-Marie has this awesome bright pink hair, retro style and some really cool ink. And it was one of those perfect almost-spring days where the sun is shining and trying to stay awake as long as possible. All in all really great shoot.
Ann-Marie has this REALLY cute polka-dot dress she changed into. Very retro. I'm going to have to see if I can hunt down one for myself. And Mark was just one cool cat. And SO in love with Ann-Marie. The boy is GONE. (P.S. I shot the series below! Aren't you proud of me? It gives me a little thrill!)
I LOVE this picture. Look at her face! She is pretty gone too! They are just such a cute couple.
Okay, so this last one has a back story. Jen had gone on and on about how she had found this one lone tree and she really wanted to take pictures using it and so on and so forth. When we got there is was a really small tree. I think Anne and I had in mind a HUGE oak and this was a baby tree. So we laughed and made fun, but who's laughing now? Those pictures turned out awesome! I take it all back Jen!
Thanks for letting us shoot you Ann-Marie & Mark! Your wedding is going to so cool! Click the above image to go to the Memory Journalists post and slideshow !

E-Session

I was lucky enough on Thursday night to do another e-session shoot with The Memory Journalists. This time I shot with Kelly (who is such a fun gal and a ROCKIN' photographer!). Kelly and I had the pleasure of shooting Ashley and Charlie and their little doggie munchking, Jake. I seriously CANNOT say enough good things about this couple. She is beautiful and he is so easygoing. They were such a joy to shoot! For the full story and slideshow click the bottom image to head on over to The Memory Journalists blog.

First Shoot

I told you guys that I would be working with The Memory Journalists this year and actually SHOOTING. So exciting! Last night was my first shoot as a "MJ shooter" and Jen and I had a great time!
Henry and Tina (gorgeous former MJ bride and groom) were celebrating not only their one year anniversary last night but also the grand opening of deVeres Irish Pub. The cool thing about this pub is that not only is it run by Henry and his brother but it was designed in Ireland and shipped over! Everything! The walls are all decorated with pictures and stories of Henry's family and they even have the bell from the ship that Henry's grandmother come over from Ireland in.

The pub itself is so beautiful. There are two separate rooms and the back room is this gorgeous red. All the people that work there were so great and we had a fabulous cosmo from James and great conversation with Courtney.

And I can't pass up the opportunity to say, "LOOK! Jen's in a dress!!!!"

All in all it was such a great time and a great initiation into the MJ team. Thanks for taking me Jen!

My new gig

I am so, so, SO excited! I have been doing a little bit of work here and there for our wedding photographer, The Memory Journalists. When I met Jen and started to get to know her over the course of planning our wedding we just really hit it off. First she is an AMAZING photographer and I was totally jealous of her skill and her very cool camera, so I wanted to cozy up to her. Secondly, we just clicked. So she asked me to help her out with some stuff and I have been helping take care of some behind the scene's tasks. Over the last couple of weeks she and I have been talking about me taking on a few more tasks and one of those tasks would be. . .wait for it. . .a company photographer! How cool is that? Needless to say I am nervous (even thought I haven't even shot anyone yet!), but I'm really excited. I am excited about the direction this is going and I have really high hopes.

My very first MJ shot! Aren't Kelly's eyes AMAZING?

First of all these desserts are AMAZING just to look at. SECONDLY, SO GOOD. Check out Sugar and Spice .

So last weekend was my first Photography Bootcamp as team member of Memory Journalists. Jen hold classes with the photographers to train us on the proper use of our cameras and how to basically take better pictures. It was really cool, very informative and a whole lot of fun. We got to practice shooting each other and then some AMAZING little desserts. After our class we had the MJ Christmas party. This is the second one I have been to and these little shindigs are always a blast. Nothing like hanging out with the cool crowd!

The MJ team (minus Teresa & Tina).

And in even bigger news. . .Congrats NJ on your engagement! Let the games begin!

9 Months

Dear Hubby,

Today we have been married 9 months. We spent the day our usual Sunday Way. Hanging out, TV, Olmpics, movies, Taco Bell and an easy dinner of Sloppy Joe's.

This weekend we were at a wedding. As I watched my cousins take their vows I thought about ours. For better, for worse. For richer, for poor. In sickness and in health. To love, honor and cherish. As I watched them stand in the place that we stood a mere 9 months ago I was overwhelmed by love and emotion.

You and I were meant to be. I know that. You stand up to me. You believe in me. You are secure in yourself. You are laid back enough for the both of us. You truly are the "cheese to my macaroni."

These last 9 months have not all been pure bliss. There has been the moves and now the loss of my job. There has been the adjustment of living with someone with whom you have never shared a space before and learning to be dependent. It hasn't always been what we thought but in some ways it has surpassed everything we thought it would be. You are truly my best friend, my confidant, my love, my sounding board, and my biggest cheerleader. You have held me while I cried, laughed at me with Georgia and yelled at me when I've been pig-headed. I love you more than I could have ever imagined. I longed for this place of comfort but was unsure I would ever get here.

Thank you. Thank you for loving me and fighting with me and believing in me and CHOOSING me. As exciting as the last 9 months have been I can only imagine how the next 90 years will be! I look forward to what the next chapter holds for us. We are on our way and I feel safer knowing you are by my side.

Love,

Wifey

P.S. Jen, thanks for giving us a way to relive our day over and over again. You gave us the memories we so wanted to have.

Pins and Needles

Okay, so I just got an email from my photographer asking me a question about our wedding album she is designing for us. Needless to say this has made me VERY excited to know that she is working on it! Makes me grin from ear to ear! Can't wait to see it! No rush Jen, but I'm totally ready to check it out! :-)
